What is Gender Selection?

in Gender Selection,What is Gender Selection

Gender Selection (also known as Sex Selection) is the process of increasing the chances of conceiving a child of a particular sex.

There are natural gender selection methods you can use to increase your chances of conceiving a baby of a particular sex, however, none of these methods guarantee that you will end up with a baby of your preferred gender.

At the end of the day, you have a 50/50 chance of getting a baby that is the sex of your choice, but there are a few things you can do to swing the percentage in your favor.

Some examples are:

A diet that alters the pH level of the woman’s body (alkaline for boys, acidic for girls);

Timing and position of sexual intercourse;

Drinking coffee 20 minutes prior to sex is thought to help stimulate sperm;

Monitoring the woman’s basal body temperature (BBT) – body temperature increases when the woman is ovulating;

Adoption.

There are also medically assisted gender selection methods that can be used to increase your chances of conceiving a baby of your preferred gender, however, there are many debates on this topic because not everyone agrees with the ethics of these methods.

A broad example of this is:

Sperm selection methods (eg: sperm spinning) in conjunction with IVF (in vitro fertilization).

Medical assistance with gender selection is very expensive, and parents-to-be are often shocked to discover just how much money it will cost them.

Unless there is a medical reason for seeking gender selection, in most cases medical intervention will not be an option for those wanting to choose the sex of their baby.
